Guy Buys Brand New Jeep Cherokee, Ends up Being a LEMON? Should new Cars be Inspected too?

Here’s another lesson that should’ve been avoided from day one, especially after buying a car that was presumed to be NEW and off the lot. Teg Sethi, who recently purchased a $60,000 AUD Jeep Cherokee (looks like a Grand Cherokee from the Video), started having way to many problems with the car – which can happen even with new vehicles that don’t have pre-purchase car inspections.

He complained multiple times to the dealership that sold him the vehicle with no avail and even went to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) with the issues after the dealership made no efforts in rectifying the issues.

This is after the vehicle completely stopped working – which is odd for a brand new car right off the lot right? According to Teg, “It’s had numerous issues and has been towed a number of times. I no longer trust it to transport my family safely I recorded this song and made this music clip out of frustration, as the dealer and Fiat Chrysler Australia have basically told me to bugger off.” You can imagine the frustration that this “new car owner” went through while attempting to drive his vehicle off the show room floor and around the city. Hope he had the tow truck driver on speed – dial!

Seems that this wasn’t an isolated issue with the dealership who sold him the vehicle, because since then the ACCC has threaten sanctions on the business in September of 2015 and is starting to action against the dealership. We dont know if this situation has been fixed or not, but we sure hope he at least got a replacement car.

With that said, Teg was fed up with all the issues he was having and the lack of response from anyone about the issues, he turned to social media to get the word out about his “LEMON” of a car by putting together this masterpiece of a video below. This is yet another prime example of why you should always have your car inspected before buying it, especially if its a used car! Have a watch and share with your friends – and don’t forget, Inspect before you Buy!
